How incredible are these embroidered children’s portraits by Cayce Zavaglia?! The St. Louis artist is a trained painter who started a breathtaking series of embroidered portraits 13 years ago. She creates each portrait by hand embroidered using wool, silk and cotton thread. I love that her work is so intimate, as she only creates portraits of close friends and family members. Each portrait takes 8 weeks from start to finish, amazing right?! Her moving and inspiring work is going to be featured at the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis on May 9th. If you’re in the city, you should definitely check out the exhibit!
