AROUND OUR HOME

02/05/2014

Some photos from around our home.

We’ve been spending most of our days inside due to the cold weather and I feel like we’ve been climbing the walls. This long winter has been kind of a bummer for us. Coming from Texas, we aren’t used to so much cold and gloom. All of us are looking forward to sunshine and springtime; playing in the park, outdoor movies, trips to the vineyard, back yard barbecues, and swimming in the lake.

I will say that the gray of winter does make for some pretty light in our home. That is something I can appreciate.

Come on spring! We are anxiously awaiting your arrival.

That photo of little Sailor’s toes.. precious!! But all the photos are just beautiful, as usual!!

I’ve been getting the winter blues as well. I think what gets me worst of all is how confined you are in the winter. I cannot wait to be able to run around outside, adventure with friends, and swim in the lakes. x

You have such a wonderful home James. The surroundings you have from your backyard is stunning!

I love that “ITS OK” sign. Something so simple but uplifting to look at! And Birdie is just too cute.

Your house is beautiful. I have no idea how you keep it so clean with 4 kids around! Very envious of the greenery on your doorstep too. I live in London and as much as I love it here (which I really do, I’m not complaining), building after building after building is no match for a little nature x

I feel like I’m going insane stuck in doors as well!!! LETS GO SPRING!

gorgeous photos. i love that one of birdie. so cute!

it’s been a really hard winter for us, too. we’re up in maine, right on the coast, and it’s been a “real maine winter” this year, for sure. lots of snow and lots of bitter cold. i’ve lived here all my life so i’m used to it, but i can’t imagine how you guys must be feeling just moved from a rather warm area! cabin fever for sure… but spring will be here soon! :)

Would love to know where you sourced that gorgeous b&w mountain print!

It’s so funny how everything is relative. Your cold days in Nashville are equivalent to our warmer days this winter. We’ve been getting so many days/weeks in the single digits and even below zero and feet (not inches) of snow accumulation where I live. I’ve been stuck inside with my baby, too. I know I couldn’t handle the heat and humidity of Texas in the summer though.

Where is your “it’s ok” banner from? Love it!

  • Sharon

LOVE your black heels! What brand are they?

The simplicity of the way you decorate is very admirable. Your style reminds me of my mom’s in a lot of ways. Thankfully I’ve acquired much of her good taste over the years. At least I’d like to think so ;) I just bought a black and white poster of Bridalveil Falls in Yosemite Park- I could see it fitting in with your look.

Such lovely light! I’ve come back to look at these photos three times already today. I also love simple, muted rooms with mostly white. It is calming and dreamy.

that jewelry box/pyramid is so lovely.

  • leni

are you planning on a complete home story? i love the pictures you took of the children’s bedrooms back where you lived before.

  • Adeline

What are your heels? They’re so pretty!

I hear you about winter. I don’t mind the cold weather but it gets to a point where my body just suddenly craves heat, sunshine and summer food and I can’t control it anymore. We’ll get there soon!
