happy new year everybody! we spent our new years eve at home, working on the new blog site and sipping on champagne. the new site was supposed to launch today but it looks like the export of this blog and all of it’s posts and comments is going to take a couple more days to swap over. thank you for your patience while we work to get it up and running.

in the meantime let’s talk about new years goal shall we? i made a few… i want to work harder, play harder, travel as much as possible this year with my family and focus more on the positive things in life and leave any negativity at the door. i also have two new and exciting business ventures that i am diving head first into that i want to grow, grow, grow and be successful. another fun goal that i have is to bake bread once a week. my friend robin is gifting me with some of her sour dough starter and i just bought this book to get started on my wonderful journey to home baked bread. i have big plans for you 2014. let’s do this!

i would love to hear some of your new years goals. it’s interesting how sharing just a few of our own ambitions can inspire someone else so heavily. feel free to join in on the discussion in the comments below.

happy new year my friends and thank you for your patience while the new blog platform is under construction. xx

I’m so excited for you and your blog this year! I can’t wait to hear about all your new ventures and see your new blog design.
I’ve always wanted to make my own sourdough bread so I’d love to hear about your experiences. I always find baking bread so therapeutic haha! I’ve only got a few goals this year and that’s to travel as much as possible too, whether just going on a couple weekend adventures somewhere or hopefully to go on a few abroad. And to spend more quality time going on actual dates with my boyfriend, rather than just sitting together watching tv each night haha!
    Happy New Year!

happy new year to you + your fam! a few simple resolutions i am making to myself is to seek out more adventure, grow my business, trust myself and my abilities (WE ARE ALL CAPABLE OF ANYTHING), and dream louder! so often i find myself in self doubt or worry, but today i will put that to an end and simply be me.

Can’t wait to see the new site! And ohhh! Sundays Cake, Saturdays Bread maybe? I haven’t made resolutions yet (is that even okay seeing as its already jan 1… who knows?)

Armed with a new KitchenAid, baking more bread is one of my goals, too!

  • Jessica

Eagerly awaiting your new site too! Super excited for you guys!! I’m not the best with resolutions, but last year I did pretty well sticking to the one I made. I’m worried I will jinx mine if I throw them out there – silly, I know! But aside from a few “shall not be named” super specific ones, overall, I just want to worry less and be happier in my self.
    Happy New Year!

Good goals! I tend to be an over goal maker. Some for 2014 include: yoga EVERYDAY this year, blog more, run more, take some classes (water color, photography, HTML), teach myself the harmonica, and camp with the family in our new old fiberglass trailer!
    Happy New Year!

Baking our own bread is a goal that my husband and I have been working on sporadically for a while now and we are going to get serious this year. A KitchenAid dough hook is a great $15 investment! His most recent attempt is shown here with a simple recipe. http://lifewiththecrew.typepad.com/my-blog/2013/12/thankful-tuesday-being-held-on-monday-122313.html
One of my other food goals is to make more of our own dairy products. Organic dairy products are pretty expensive to buy, so we’re going to buy the raw milk and attempt to make our own. My husband has mastered the yogurt and I just found a recipe for cottage cheese that sounds pretty simple.
I’ll be excited to see how your bread attempts turn out!
